~~~~~~~~~~~ Niagara River Drift Dive ~~~~~~~~~~~
Dive trip in the works for Saturday, May 31st. I don't have all of the details but...
It will start with a drift dive on the Niagara River. This will be a shore dive from the Trainbridge and ending approximately at Frenchmen's Creek.
Afterwards, it will be a few hours to assembly and go for lunch.
To be followed with a short drive to Port Colborne, to board the dive boat "Mud Puppy". This is a very nice dive boat.
From there, it will be a dive on the Raleigh (depth: approx. 25-30') and / or Tonawanda (depth: approx. 30-48').
All of these dives are suitable for open-waters. The Niagara River is a good place to test your bouyancy and the fact that your wet suit shrunk over winter.
The approx. cost is $55 / diver if we do one wreck and if we do both it will be approx. $25 extra. There may be a fuel surcharge due to rising gas prices.
If you need equipment, as a TRRR Member you receive discounts at Watersports, a great sponsor of TRRR. Renting a tank from Dan's Dive Shop requires that you make arrangements in advance. Don't expect to arrive at the boat and find a tank waiting for you to rent.
Dan's Dive shop website address is: www.dansdiveshop.ca to check out the dives sites, etc.
If you are interested, please get back to me ASAP (pranks@earthlink.net) so that we can reserve the boat.
Regards,
Peter Rex
